Young men and women posed for photographs in fashionable attire and kimonos and gathered for socially-distanced ceremonies throughout Japan Monday for Coming of Age Day, amid the coronavirus pandemic.  Held on the second Monday of January, Coming of Age Day  is a celebration to congratulate and encourage those who have reached adulthood and turned 20 years old between April 2 of the previous year and April 1 of the current year.
