Mexico City bans single-use plastics

The perils of single-use plastics are well documented. They can take thousands of years to break down, leaching toxic chemicals along the way, clogging landfills and littering oceans. Now Mexico City, one of the world's biggest urban centers, is acting to rid them altogether.
