The streets of downtown Washington, D.C. appear virtually empty Saturday ahead of the Presidential inauguration next Wednesday, which will mark the commencement of the four-year term of Joe Biden as president and Kamala Harris as vice president.. Streets have been cordoned off with non-scalable fencing, and thousands of National Guard troops are being flown in from across the nation and territories to aid in security following the deadly Capitol riots that took place in Washington D.C. last week.
