U.S. President-elect Joe Biden has picked California’s Attorney General Xavier Becerra to lead the ​U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. 

Becerra has never held a health policy role, but he's got a long history of involvement in the nation's Affordable Care Act. 

If confirmed, he'll be tasked with helping Biden fulfill a key commitment, distributing 100 million COVID-19 vaccines in his first 100 days in office.
