Spokesperson of the Chinese embassy said the anonymous strategy paper on China which was published by the Atlantic Council tried to use conspiracies to trigger regime change and contain China. China has kept improving life quality for its people and promoting peace and justice in handling international relations, the spokesperson added, rumors and slanders will not prevail.
Here's the full response:
This strategy paper once again exposes the attempt of some people on the U.S. side to instigate a "new Cold War" and ideological confrontation, bring about regime change and contain China. That the author of the paper chooses to remain anonymous only reveals the dark motives behind which cannot stand the light of day.
Throughout its 100-year history, the Communist Party of China has always kept to its original aspiration to pursue happiness for the people and rejuvenation for the nation. With meeting the people's aspiration for a better life as its only goal, the Party has won the genuine support of the whole Chinese population. On international relations, we uphold the universal values of peace, development, fairness, justice, democracy and freedom, and work to build a community with a shared future for mankind.
People of the world will come to a fair conclusion as to who is on the right side of history. In the end, those who have been deceiving their way around with rumors and slanders will not prevail. Taking schemes and conspiracies as strategy is doomed to failure.
