The Australian Open is underway, with 4,000-people-deep crowds cheering on star tennis players like Serena Williams, Naomi Osaka and Dominic Thiem in Adelaide, Australia on Friday.

All completing players underwent a mandatory quarantine in advance of the open, but many people in the stands were seen sitting closely and not wearing masks.  As of Friday, Australia has reported 28,800 cases of COVID-19 and 909 deaths.
