School districts in Arizona are divided over the decision to reopen as COVID-19 cases surge.

The state's governor has gone against the advice of local health officials by calling on teachers to resume in-person teaching.

But teacher groups have organized “sick-outs” to protest the decision and refused to go back to classes.
