The U.S. Biden administration is officially designating Myanmar's military takeover a coup d'état.
The State department says they will review foreign assistance to the country and are calling on the military to release those who have been detained.
Myanmar's military seized control on Monday after detaining top government officials, including leader Suu Kyi, over claims of a fraudulent election.
