People in Vietnam are preparing for the Vietnamese Lunar New Year, the festival of the year.

People are decorating their homes with peach blossom flowers, buying kumquats and releasing carp into rivers and lakes.

The tradition of releasing carp happens one week before the holiday officially begins.

Preparations this year were quieter because of COVID-19.

Vietnam has kept cases under 2,000 but is experiencing an outbreak with the UK variant.
