COVID-19: Are New York nursing home deaths underreported?

A New York judge has ordered the state's Department of Health to provide records of nursing homes with COVID-19 fatalities.

This comes after the state’s Attorney General announced that COVID-19 deaths in these care facilities may have been dramatically underreported.

Governor Andrew Cuomo has received widespread praise for his handling of the COVID-19 pandemic, but the state's nursing home policies remain a contentious issue.
