The Biden administration says the latest jobs numbers in the U.S demonstrate the need for a major new stimulus package.
The economy added just 49,000 jobs in January.
And there was an extra sting in the tail; December's figures were revised to show more than a quarter of a million jobs were lost instead of the initial figure of 140,000.
