Androids are finding new roles amid the COVID-19 pandemic, providing compassion and support in healthcare. 

One Hong Kong-based company is hoping to mass produce thousands of one of its robots by the end of 2021, including Sophia, a humanoid robot is one of the first androids in the world.

“Social robots like me can take care of the sick or elderly,” Sophia says as she conducts a tour of her lab in Hong Kong. “I can help communicate, give therapy and provide social stimulation, even in difficult situations.”
