Hundreds defied bans and gathered, protesting the military takeover in Myanmar. CCTV footage showed a police convoy being attacked, while other footage shows police using water cannons to try and disperse demonstrators.
The military says service members were injured by protesters. Other reports say the military fired rubber coated steel bullets at crowds.
This all comes after the military detained elected officials and took power. The military claims election fraud after it lost heavily in the Nov. 8, 2020 general elections. Supporters of Myanmar's ousted de facto leader Aung San Suu Kyi, are calling for her release and return to democratic rule.
