Preparation for the Lunar New Year, commonly associated with the Chinese New Year or Spring Festival, is underway in many Asian countries this week. The Lunar New Year marks the first new moon of the lunisolar calendars, and preparations for the celebrations have begun.
This year the Lunar New Year will fall on Friday, February 12. In terms of the Chinese zodiac animal, it is about to be the year of the Ox.
