A large number of Orthodox Jews protested Israel’s tight coronavirus restrictions. Conspiracies against the virus and its vaccine are rampant in the orthodox sect, with some Jewish leaders claiming the vaccine causes homosexuality.

Israel has received international praise for its vaccine distribution system, with over 30% of its populations already receiving the vaccine. Israel's also been criticized for denying vaccines to Palestinians and blocking shipments entering the occupied West Bank and Gaza.
