Brazilians who relied on emergency aid from the government for much of last year are struggling now to make do without it.

Monthly aid payments of about $110 dollars for qualifying citizens began last April, then were halved in September.

But the program ended entirely at the end of the year.

And with the economy still hobbled by the coronavirus pandemic, poverty is once again on the rise.
