Rio celebrates a “Vaccine Carnival”

Around this time a year ago, millions descended on Rio de Janeiro to celebrate the Carnevale festival. This year, as the COVID-19 pandemic continues its impact on Brazil, the city has limited the usual festivities. Now, they are using the Sambadrome to administer the vaccine and test more people. 

Take a look at this year’s “Vaccine Carnival,” as the city pays respects to the 235,000 people who died from the virus.
