U.S. central bank under pressure to focus on inflation risks

Don’t worry about inflation, that was the message to lawmakers from the head of the U.S. central bank on Tuesday. 

Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell is trying to counter a growing chorus of critics who fear his extraordinary measures will send consumer prices soaring in a post-pandemic recovery. The Fed chair actually thinks inflation is far below its optimal range.
