COVID-19: Chinese shop owners struggle to stay open

With its surging daily death toll averaging more than double the peaks of July and August 2020, Brazil is now the global COVID-19 epicenter.

The economic impact is being felt across the country.

In Rio de Janeiro, sharp declines in sales have caused thousands of stores to close but Chinese business owners, buffered by strong community support, are managing to keep their shops open, hoping these turbulent times will soon come to an end.
