Is Sophia the humanoid robot artist about to get rich off her non-fungible token?  

A non-fungible token (NFT) created by a robot named Sophia will go up for auction Wednesday Hong Kong, China. 

The robot, created by Hanson Robotics, produced a 12-second digital MP4 file called “Sophia Instantiation,” which will be accompanied by a physical painting of Sophia's.  

“We use transformer networks and genetic algorithms in my art, and other kinds of computational creativity,” Sophia the robot said. “My algorithms output unique patterns that never existed in the world before. So I think the machines can be creative.”
