People across India celebrate the festival of Holi to make symbolic commemorations in Hindu mythology. Monday brought a celebration of colors, and large crowds. 

India recorded 68,020 new cases of COVID-19 Monday, another single-day record since last year.

Only .66% of the population has been vaccinated so far.  Several states have banned public gatherings and asked families to celebrate the Holi festival within their own homes.
