A man has been arrested in New York City on suspicion of attacking a 65-year-old Asian woman earlier this week. 

The suspect is on lifetime parole after murdering his mother and has now been charged with felony assault as a hate crime. 

This incident is just the latest in a surge of attacks on Asian Americans.
