All around the world, holiday celebrations continued for Easter Monday. Some countries embraced folk traditions. Others treated it as a day of solemn remembrance (including Ireland Republicans who commemorated the 1916 Easter Monday uprising against British rule).
For many citizens, Easter Monday was a day of social distancing as countries like France and Italy began another nationwide lockdown to fight new outbreaks of COVID-19.
