Jonathan D. Ostry, Acting Director of the Asia and Pacific Department at the International Monetary Fund said China's economy is projected to grow bigger after the COVID-19 pandemic. However, the Asia-Pacific region will likely permanently lose 5-6 percent of GDP due to the pandemic, he added.
Ostry also said that the International Monetary Fund welcomes China and other big Asia-Pacific economies to commit to deepen regional trade and economic integration.
In addition, he discusses how China can contribute to Asia-Pacific regional cooperation when it comes to economic recovery.
