U.S. ride-sharing company Lyft has sold off its autonomous vehicle unit to Toyota.  

It’s the latest sign of partnerships in the self-driving sector, as traditional carmakers and tech startups struggle with how to offer the technology safely.

It’s also a boost for the Japanese carmaker which has recently started building a model city to test its vehicles.
