Even before the coronavirus pandemic, the wait list for transplant patients meant an agonizing daily reality for thousands of patients. 

As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to ravage Latin America, Venezuela’s healthcare system remains severely broken. 

And the plight of Venezuela’s transplant patients grows acutely painful by the day. Many have been waiting for a transplant since 2017.
