Environmental protesters are occupying a pump station in protest of a pipeline construction in Minnesota.

The current pipeline, Line 3 from the company Owner Enbridge, sends crude oil from Alberta, Canada to U.S. Midwest refiners, but it carries less oil than its supposed to because of age and corrosion.

Owner Enbridge is replacing the line so more oil can be transported.

Protesters say they stand in solidarity with indigenous communities in the area who are concerned over the risks the pipeline has to their rivers and lakes.

The company says protests have not impacted construction and Line 3 is on schedule to be completed and in service.
