A critical moment in modern Chinese history is captured in oil paints by artist Shen Yaoyi in 1997.
The painting depicts the famous Zunyi Conference, a meeting by the Communist Party of China (CPC) in Southwest China's Guizhou province in 1935 during the Long March.
Held during the CPC's Long March, the conference formed a new CPC Central Committee.
During the conference, Mao Zedong was named Party leader and assumed command of the Red Army.
The party also applied independently the basic principles of Marxism-Leninism and corrected errors in military affairs.
The event is considered a watershed event in CPC history.
Zunyi has now become a place of pilgrimage for generations of Party members.
It's a place forever linked to decisions that ensured the eventual triumph of the CPC and Red Army.
