Canada’s government is sending military aircraft to assist fire crews battling out of control wildfires in the province of British Columbia following a record breaking heatwave this week.

The small town of Lytton was completely engulfed and destroyed by fire.

Most of the town’s 250 residents evacuated, but lost everything. More than 130 wildfires, many sparked by lightning, are burning currently across Canada.
