The town of St. Michael in Barbados is cleaning up debris after Hurricane Elsa hit there Friday.  

Elsa weakened to tropical storm status early Saturday as it ripped through the Caribbean on a path toward the U.S. state of Florida.  

Cuba’s mountains, where Elsa will pass through Saturday, are a factor in reducing the storm’s intensity before its possible arrival in Florida Monday.
