While Elsa has now downgraded from a tropical storm to a post-tropical cyclone, the storm is still dumping heavy rain and strong winds along the U.S. northeast.
Some areas remain under a tropical storm warning, as the storm continues north.
A "gradual weakening is forecast to occur over the weekend," according to the U.S. National Hurricane Center.
