Europe's flood death toll tops 190

As parts of Germany and western Europe begin cleanup in the aftermath of the unprecedented flooding, other areas saw new flash floods over the weekend.

Highways have collapsed, sinkholes swallowed homes and streets filled with debris, after muddy waters swept through the region.

Days of extreme downpours have killed over 190 people in Europe, including at least 160 deaths in Germany.

German Chancellor Angela Merkel has promised financial aid for those impacted and a stronger political focus on climate change.
