Firefighters are using the Union Pacific Fire Train to protect the train tracks and keep the Dixie Fire from spreading in the Plumas National Forest.

The Dixie Fire has grown in size.

California Fire says they have contained about 14% of the area but they have limited access to the fire because it's burning in a remote region with difficult accessibility.

Strong winds, hot weather and the potential of thunder and lightning are also contributing to fire conditions.
