Wildfires scar western United States

Firefighters in the western United States are out in force to control the growing number of wildfires burning the region. Along with the blazes, many are facing excessive heat, droughts, and the threat of lightning, which could spark newer fires.

The crisis has gotten so bad that these ultra-hot areas essentially have created their own weather systems.
