The gunman who went on a killing spree at a series of spas in March has pleaded guilty to four counts of murder --- part of a plea deal negotiated by prosecutors.

Robert Aaron Long received four sentences of life without the possibility of parole plus 35 additional years, assuring he will most likely spend the rest of his life in prison.

The shootings occurred at three spas in the Atlanta, Georgia area. Six of his eight victims were Asian women.

Long denied race was a factor, but the killings sparked protests against rising incidents of anti-Asian hate in the United States.
