Left-wing candidates make a comeback in Latin America

Pedro Castillo, a socialist and the son of peasant farmers, is Peru's new president after rising from obscurity to narrowly beat a right-wing rival, the daughter of a jailed former president.

He is expected to turn Peru to the left in what could be part of a growing trend in the region.
