It appears the Federal Reserve is preparing to take its foot off the accelerator when it comes to helping the U.S. economy recover from the pandemic. 

In a speech last Friday, at an annual economic conference, Fed Chair Jerome Powell signaled that asset purchases meant to increase lending and stimulate investment could be dialed down starting later this year.
