Hurricane Ida made landfall in the state of Louisiana Sunday, with wind and rain ravaging the state’s coast, completely knocking out the power grid for the city of New Orleans and leaving millions of customers in Louisiana and Mississippi without electricity.

The storm was responsible for at least one death, according to authorities, as search and rescue efforts are underway to get the full scope of the damage.
