U.S. job numbers for August fell short of expectations

After two months of impressive growth, U.S. job numbers for August released Friday fell short of expectations. 

And yet, this is seemingly inconsistent with a record number of job openings and the unemployment rate dropping to almost pre-pandemic levels. 

As CGTN’s Owen Fairclough reports, the COVID-19 Delta variant appears to be the problem.
