The Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) celebrated 73 years since its foundation, with festivities, military parades and fireworks at Kim II Sung Square in Pyongyang on Thursday.
DPRK leader Kim Jong Un emerged as the clock struck midnight to applause from the spectators and performers filling the square named after his grandfather, the founder of the country.
