Chinese ambassador Qin Gang has called on all the Chinese nationals in the U.S. and Chinese Americans to help promote China-U.S. relations, as he met virtually with the representatives. He also hoped they can get a broader development platform amid China’s rise and protect themselves from the rising Asian hate crimes. 

First, Qin hopes that all overseas Chinese in the United States will continue to be participants in China’s development.

"From the Revolution of 1911 to the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, from building a new China to supporting China’s Reform and Opening up and modernization, at every stage of China’s development, the great contributions of overseas Chinese are inseparable," Qin said.

"Now, China has started a new journey toward the second centenary goal of fully building a modern socialist country. Chinese President Xi Jinping said that national rejuvenation has been the greatest dream of the Chinese people and the Chinese nation. It requires the joint efforts of Chinese people at home and abroad. On this new journey, the overseas Chinese in the United States cannot be absent. At the same time, the overseas Chinese in the United States will also obtain a broader development platform, realize their own values at a higher level, and accomplish their own growth." He said.

Second, Qin hopes the overseas Chinese in the United States will continue to be the promoters of the development of China-U.S. relations.

Qin said, "The status of China-U.S. relations is closely related to the well-being of all the overseas Chinese in the U.S. Overseas Chinese in the U.S. have always been an important force in maintaining and promoting China-U.S. relations, playing a unique role of connecting the two nations and boosting exchange."

Third, Qin hopes the overseas Chinese in the United States will continue to be defenders of their own rights and interests. 

"For a long time, generations of overseas Chinese and Chinese immigrations have achieved many success stories with their hard work and perseverance. Faced with the current situation, I hope and believe that Chinese Americans can use their wisdom to work together with all ethnic groups in the United States to better show their own value and contribution and win their due position in the diverse American society," Qin said.
