Unexpectedly long lines formed Friday at some polling places throughout Russia on Friday, the first day of voting in Russia’s parliamentary election.  

Russians have three days to cast their ballots.  By Saturday afternoon only about 2 percent of the electorate had cast their vote, according to the head of the elections commission.
