Haitians in Port-au-Prince marched to the U.S. Embassy in protest of the deportation of migrants from the U.S.

Thousands of Haitian migrants who had reached the U.S./Mexico border, many of whom were stuck at a makeshift camp in Texas, have landed back in Haiti.

The head of Haiti's national migration office, Jean Negot Bonheur Delva says they expect about 14,000 Haitians to be deported in the coming weeks.

He also says deportees are angry and "don't accept the forced return," reports the New York Times.

Haiti is appealing for a suspension of deportations, saying they are in crisis and can’t handle thousands of homeless deportees.
