A shallow 5.9 magnitude earthquake hit near Quetta, Pakistan, early Thursday morning. Rescuers are searching for survivors and military doctors and paramedics have reached hard-hit areas according to local media. Most of the injuries are in the Harnai district, which is east of Quetta. 

The U.S. Geological Survey says the quake was 9km deep, potentially making it more damaging.
