CGTN

Activists in Brazil are commemorating the milestone of the 600,000 people who have died from the coronavirus with protests and memorials across Brazil. In Rio de Janeiro, an NGO displayed 600 white handkerchiefs to mark the number of fatalities.

Others held protests in Brasilia to pay tribute to the dead and against President Jair Bolsonaro administration. The country will become the second one to reach that grim milestone of deaths since the beginning of the pandemic.
