Early voting begins for Iraqi parliamentary election
CGTN

Early voting has begun in Iraq ahead of its parliamentary election scheduled for Sunday, with Iraqis electing a new parliament for the fifth time since the U.S.-led invasion in 2003 overthrew Saddam Hussein.

At least 329 seats are open in the election, which was moved from 2022 following the youth-led protests that took place in late 2019. But anger over the government corruption and failures of governance might mean many will stay home during the election.
