Hindus are commemorating the Durga Puja festival this week across India and Bangladesh, a celebration for the goddess Durga. The five-day festival commemorates the slaying of a demon king by Durga, restoring good over evil.

During the festival, worshipers take part in rituals, including prayers and animal sacrifices. Here are some of the scenes from India.
