Muslims around the world attend ceremonies commemorating the birth of Prophet Muhammed, known in Arabic as "Mawlid al-Nabi”. 

Many celebrate the prophet’s birthday on the 12th Rabi-ul-Awal month on the Islamic calendar, while others say the practice is a harmful innovation and shun the practice altogether.
