As a migrant caravan makes its way through southern Mexico, at least a thousand of Haitian migrants gathered at a professional football stadium in Tapachula, Chiapas hoping to register for asylum in Mexico.

Officials have said 25,000 Haitian migrants are already in Tapachula. Many migrants are saying that the process for receiving refugee status takes months to complete and is confusing. Photos by CGTN's Franc Contreras.
