Europe is getting hit hard by climate change, especially when it comes to water. From floods in Germany to droughts in Spain, from tidal surges in Venice to Siberian wildfires. 

Now, a new generation of scientists are rushing to their labs for solutions. Two science students from Spain are developing devices and materials capable of capturing carbon dioxide straight from the atmosphere. 

In the United Kingdom, a young mechanical engineer leads a team developing a network of smart charging storage locker pods for scooters. While a material science student is developing indoor solar cells that are more efficient than existing technology.
